The former president, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/08\/27\/trump-debate-harris-00176468#:~:text=Trump%20has%20ignited,on%20CBS%20News.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">once eager to schedule a second debate<\/a>, seemed not so sure.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, whose debate performance was widely panned as chaotic and peppered with falsehoods, insisted Wednesday morning that he\u2019d been the victor against Harris. Another debate, Trump suggested, would hand the vice president another bite at the apple.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first thing they did is ask for a debate because when a fighter loses, he says \u2018I want a rematch,\u2019\u201d Trump said Wednesday morning on \u201cFox &amp; Friends.\u201d Pushed on whether he would agree to another debate, the former president said: \u201cI\u2019d be less inclined to because we had a great night, we won the debate, we had a terrible network.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump bashed ABC News, which hosted the debate, as \u201cthe most dishonest news organization\u201d and called Tuesday\u2019s debate \u2014 during which moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis repeatedly fact-checked Trump \u2014 \u201cthree to one\u201d and \u201ca rigged deal.\u201d Still, he characterized his performance as \u201cone of my better debates, maybe my best debate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Late Tuesday, Harris\u2019 campaign released a statement calling for a second debate and Fox News offered to host one moderated by Martha MacCallum and Bret Baier \u201cwhile early in-person voting gets underway in multiple battleground states,\u201d on Oct. 9 in Arizona, Oct. 15 in Georgia or Oct. 16 in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSeems like the American people would love another opportunity to see these candidates. It\u2019s been such a short window and they deserve as many opportunities as possible,\u201d MacCallum said during the network\u2019s post-debate coverage. \u201cWe certainly hope they will take us up on that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Trump on Wednesday appeared to reject the network\u2019s offer, saying \u201cI wouldn\u2019t want to have Martha and Brett.\u201d Although he said he \u201cprobably\u201d wouldn\u2019t agree to any more debates, he said he would consider right-wing pundits Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters and Laura Ingraham \u2014 Fox News opinion hosts who are sympathetic to the former president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t think Martha and Brett were good last night,\u201d he added, as the \u201cFox &amp; Friends\u201d hosts scrambled to steer the conversation elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Harris campaign spokesperson Quentin Fulks affirmed Wednesday on CNN that Harris \u201cis open to a debate in October.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut if I were Donald Trump,\u201d he said, \u201cI would not want to debate Kamala Harris.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/09\/11\/trump-debate-winner-fox-00178611\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"feedzy-rss-link-icon\" rel=\"noopener\">Read More<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Politics Kamala Harris\u2019 campaign left Philadelphia on Tuesday night eager for another showdown against Donald Trump.
