President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday tapped Devin Nunes, the CEO of his social media platform Truth Social, to lead the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board, an independent group within the Executive Office that oversees the U.S. intelligence community\u2019s compliance with the Constitution.<\/p>\n
Nunes will continue leading Trump Media & Technology Group, a public company with a nearly $8 billion market cap. Trump is the company\u2019s largest shareholder, with nearly 115 million shares that are currently worth about $4.2 billion.<\/p>\n
Nunes previously served as a Republican lawmaker from California and was chair of the House Intelligence Committee.<\/p>\n
\u201cDevin will draw on his experience \u2026 and his key role in exposing the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, to provide me with independent assessments of the effectiveness and propriety of the U.S. Intelligence Community\u2019s activities,\u201d Trump said Saturday in a Truth Social post<\/a>.<\/p>\n The board \u201chas access to all information necessary to perform its functions,\u201d according to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence<\/a>, as well as direct access to the president.<\/p>\n Nunes has led Trump Media since late 2021. His selection to lead the Intelligence Advisory Board further ties the company to the incoming Trump administration. Linda McMahon, Trump\u2019s pick to lead the Education Department, and Kash Patel, who has been tapped to become FBI director, both sit on Trump Media\u2019s board alongside the president-elect\u2019s son, Donald Trump Jr.<\/p>\n
