The race is still on for the winning second layer protocol,\u201d Swenson said.<br \/>\nSwan\u2019s other co-founder, Cory Klippsten, said, \u201cBitcoin is a technological revolution changing all industries, not following the adoption curve of a single technology like an iPad.\u201d<br \/>\nSource: Jason LoweryEchoing a similar sentiment, Lightspark CEO David Markus said, \u201cWhat it lacks in functionality can be built on L2s.\u201d\u00a0<br \/>\n\u201cTrying to build a better Bitcoin is a fool\u2019s errand.\u201d<br \/>\nMeanwhile, ShapeShift CEO Eric Voorhees said Bitcoin\u2019s limitations can be solved \u201con other chains.\u201d<br \/>\nThe bigger Bitcoin grows, the \u201cless likely\u201d it is to be replaced<br \/>\nMany in the industry have emphasized the importance of layer-2s for Bitcoin, as they provide use cases that the Bitcoin network cannot support, such as deploying smart contracts.<br \/>\nHowever, Muneeb Ali, co-founder of Stacks, recently told Cointelegraph that more than two-thirds of existing Bitcoin layer-2 projects will not exist within three years as their initial excitement will fade.<br \/>\nSource: Gast\u00f3n SilvaBitcoin advocate Wayne Vaughan said people wrongly assume Bitcoin is easily replaceable because they see it as just an asset, application, or platform.<br \/>\n\u201cI think of Bitcoin as a network. I do think we will get occasional alt seasons of ever diminishing strength that will continue to make insiders money.
