{"id":125448,"date":"2025-03-20T07:15:38","date_gmt":"2025-03-20T07:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cryptospotters.net\/?p=125448"},"modified":"2025-03-20T07:15:38","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T07:15:38","slug":"pakistan-eyes-crypto-legal-framework-to-spur-foreign-investors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cryptospotters.net\/?p=125448","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan eyes crypto legal framework to spur foreign investors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Cointelegraph.com NewsPakistan is planning to create a legal framework for crypto to try to lure international investors to the Central Asian country.<br \/>\n\u201cPakistan is done sitting on the sidelines; we want to have regulatory clarity; we need to have a legal framework that is pro-business,\u201d Pakistan Crypto Council CEO Bilal Bin Saqib told Bloomberg on March 20.<br \/>\n\u201cWe want Pakistan as the leader in blockchain-powered finance, and we want to attract international investment,\u201d he added. \u201cSixty percent of the population is under 30 [years old], we have a Web3-native workforce ready to build.\u201d<br \/>\nEarlier this month, Saqib was named chief adviser to Pakistan\u2019s finance minister for the management of cryptocurrencies.<br \/>\nBlockchain analytics firm Chainalysis ranked Pakistan ninth for crypto adoption last year, and Saqib claimed there were up to 20 million Pakistani crypto users.<br \/>\nRelated: Web3 devs, gamers, investors thrive despite India\u2019s crypto policy hurdles<br \/>\nHe called US President Donald Trump \u201cthe biggest bullish catalyst for crypto in history.\u201d Trump has moved to create a Bitcoin reserve and crypto stockpile using digital assets forfeited to the government.<br \/>\n\u201cTrump is making crypto a national priority, and every country, including Pakistan, will have to follow suit or will be at the risk of being left behind,\u201d Saqib said.<br \/>\nSaqib was appointed as CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council on March 14 by the Finance division of the current Pakistan government. \u201cThis is just the beginning, Pakistan is open for business,\u201c he said at the time.<br \/>\nAccording to Saqib, developing nations such as Pakistan and Nigeria have a lot to benefit from blockchain and crypto adoption.
