{"id":127510,"date":"2025-04-19T04:20:03","date_gmt":"2025-04-19T04:20:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cryptospotters.net\/?p=127510"},"modified":"2025-04-19T04:20:03","modified_gmt":"2025-04-19T04:20:03","slug":"lyn-alden-lowers-bitcoin-forecast-after-tariff-kerfuffle-eyes-liquidity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cryptospotters.net\/?p=127510","title":{"rendered":"Lyn Alden lowers Bitcoin forecast after \u2018tariff kerfuffle,\u2019 eyes liquidity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Cointelegraph.com NewsMacroeconomist Lyn Alden expects Bitcoin to finish 2025 higher than its current price of around $85,000, though she says it would have been much higher if not for US President Donald Trump\u2019s tariff announcement in February.<br \/>\n\u201cBefore all this tariff kerfuffle, I would have had a higher price target,\u201d Alden told Natalie Brunell on the April 17 episode of Coin Stories. \u201cMy guess is that we end up higher at the end of the year than we are now, at least,\u201d she added.<br \/>\nBitcoin\u2019s 24\/7 trading bolsters volatility when TradFi \u201cfreaking out\u201d<br \/>\nHowever, she said that a \u201cmassive liquidity unlock\u201d could be the catalyst needed for Bitcoin (BTC) to reach more optimistic targets, similar to those before the tariffs were introduced.<br \/>\nFor example, if the US bond market \u201cbroke\u201d and the US Federal Reserve had to step in with measures like yield curve control or quantitative easing (QE), Alden explained.<br \/>\nWhile Alden said that there is a \u201cgood chance\u201d Bitcoin reclaims the $100,000 price level before the end of the year, she emphasized that market \u201cdown days\u201d will remain a challenge for the asset, especially since Bitcoin trades 24\/7, unlike traditional stock markets with trading hours.<br \/>\n\u201cBecause it trades 24\/7, if people are worried about how things are going to open on Monday, some pools of capital can sell their Bitcoin on a Sunday and prepare,\u201d she said.\u00a0<br \/>\nAlden explained that crypto&#8217;s round-the-clock trading contributes to its &#8220;volatile pricing,&#8221; particularly when traditional financial markets are \u201cfreaking out.\u201d<br \/>\nAt the time of publication, Bitcoin is trading at $84,868, according to CoinMarketCap data.<br \/>\nHowever, Alden said Bitcoin can \u201cdisconnect\u201d from the Nasdaq 100. \u201cAnything that hurts Nasdaq margins but doesn\u2019t affect global liquidity,\u201d she said.
