{"id":32528,"date":"2022-01-16T22:16:54","date_gmt":"2022-01-16T22:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cryptospotters.net\/?p=32528"},"modified":"2022-01-16T22:16:54","modified_gmt":"2022-01-16T22:16:54","slug":"james-carville-dems-whine-too-much-need-to-highlight-accomplishments-ahead-of-midterms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cryptospotters.net\/?p=32528","title":{"rendered":"James Carville: Dems \u2018whine too much,\u2019 need to highlight accomplishments ahead of midterms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Politics<\/p>\n<p>James Carville, one of the most well-known strategists in the Democratic Party, on Sunday said that Democrats \u201cwhine too much,\u201d arguing that the left could prevail if is changed its messaging because the Republican Party stands for nothing. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust quit being a whiny party and get out there and fight and tell people what you did, and tell people the exact truth,\u201d Carville said on NBC\u2019s \u201cMeet the Press,\u201c saying that \u201ca lot of the Democratic base has not been told or informed of the things that President Biden and this Congress has accomplished.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carville pointed to the president\u2019s bipartisan infrastructure win and lower child poverty rates as examples of Democratic victories since Joe Biden took office. He said that, while he agrees with House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn on the importance of securing voting rights, it\u2019s critical that the Democratic Party \u201csoldier on\u201d and inform the public of its accomplishments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat you do, Chuck, is you run on what you&#8217;ve got,\u201d he told host Chuck Todd. \u201cYou don&#8217;t run on what you didn&#8217;t get. And the stuff you&#8217;ve got is pretty good. If they don&#8217;t pass voting rights, if they don&#8217;t pass Build Back Better, run on that in 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic Party could be in tough shape going into this year\u2019s midterm elections, as Biden\u2019s approval ratings have dropped amid rising Covid-19 cases and stalled voting rights legislation in Congress. But Carville said Republicans have no platform right now, \u201cother than, \u2018Let&#8217;s relitigate the 2020 election,\u2019 or, \u2018Let&#8217;s get back at Jamie Raskin\u2019,\u201d arguing that concrete accomplishments could give Democrats an edge if voters know about them. (Raskin, who is serving on the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots, has been known to grill his Republican colleagues on the events of the insurrection.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if inflation is still at 7 percent in November this year, we&#8217;ll lose anyway,\u201d Carville added, tempering the remarks. \u201cBut I don\u2019t think \u2014 a lot of people don&#8217;t think that&#8217;s going to be the case.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carville is best known for his work on former President Bill Clinton\u2019s successful 1992 presidential campaign, which catapulted him into the public eye. Todd asked Carville if there\u2019s a lesson Biden can take from the tough times he helped Clinton through. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoldier on,\u201d Carville responded. \u201cYou had a bad week, but you had a good year.\u201d He added that \u201cevery president goes through this\u201d and said that, if Democrats can brag about their accomplishments, \u201cwe&#8217;ll end up with a better outcome.
