Gavin Newsom has tested positive for Covid, his office announced on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom&#8217;s diagnosis comes a day after he met with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in San Francisco to sign a pledge to help fight climate change. Ardern tested positive for Covid in May.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom said in a tweet that he is \u201cexhibiting mild symptoms\u201d and is isolating at least through Thursday and until he tests negative.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom, 54, is vaccinated and has received two booster shots, the most recent on May 18, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/2022\/05\/28\/statement-from-governor-newsoms-press-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe governor has also received a prescription for Paxlovid, the antiviral that has been proven effective against COVID-19, and will begin his 5-day regimen immediately,\u201d his office said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrateful to be vaccinated and for treatments like Paxlovid,\u201d Newsom <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gavinnewsom\/status\/1530677908707999746?s=21&amp;t=Aw9GwjOTvVFX2p7DIErEpA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said in a tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/28\/newsom-test-positive-for-covid-19-00035852\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"feedzy-rss-link-icon\" rel=\"noopener\">Read More<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source: Politics California Gov.
