Eventually, the topic turned to what his first 100 days in office would look like. The Minnesota representative said he would build \u201cthe most extraordinary bipartisan Cabinet in American history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaybe we will have a third of them on this spaces right now, guys,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>As for other first 100 day priorities, Phillips also said he\u2019d use \u201czero-based budgeting\u201d and hire an international consulting firm to conduct a \u201ctop-down assessment\u201d of the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>Both Ackman and Calacanis said they were backing Phillips in his bid to challenge Biden, who Phillips has argued cannot win in a head-to-head contest against former President Donald Trump in 2024. Ackman has pledged $1 million to Phillips\u2019 super PAC. Calacanis, meanwhile, introduced Musk to Phillips on the call, referring to Phillips as \u201can entrepreneur\u201d and \u201cunder 80.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Much of the spaces\u2019 discussion centered around Phillips\u2019 position on border policy and the national debt. But all four speakers also attacked the media and the Democratic Party for various challenges they\u2019ve presented to Phillips\u2019 candidacy, including his failure to get on the primary ballots in Florida and North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGetting candidates, especially popular candidates that are quite viable, removed from ballots is taking that decision away from the public, which is fundamentally anti-democratic,\u201d Musk said. \u201cSome political party shouldn&#8217;t think that they know better than the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Phillips, who launched his presidential bid just three months ago, is grounding his campaign in New Hampshire, where Biden will not appear on the ballot after blessing a plan to reorder the presidential nominating calendar last year.<\/p>\n<p>Phillips <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2024\/01\/13\/iowa-caucus\/meanwhile-in-new-hampshire-00135469\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told POLITICO<\/a> this weekend that getting in the 20 percent range in the New Hampshire primary next week \u201cwould be magnificent.\u201d Earlier, a campaign adviser <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/01\/01\/joe-biden-dean-phillips-new-hampshire-2024-00133348\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">floated 42 percent as a threshold for success<\/a>.
