Former Attorney General Eric Holder slammed Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s report that contained observations on President Joe Biden\u2019s memory.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpecial Counsel Hur report on Biden classified documents issues contains way too many gratuitous remarks and is flatly inconsistent with long standing DOJ traditions,\u201d Holder said in a post on X<\/a> early Friday morning. \u201cHad this report been subject to a normal DOJ review these remarks would undoubtedly have been excised.\u201d<\/p>\n Holder led the Justice Department for six years during the Obama administration and has since been an adviser to the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n In the report released Thursday<\/a>, Hur stated that Biden couldn\u2019t recall when his son Beau died and said a jury would be sympathetic to Biden, who was described as a \u201cwell-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.\u201d<\/p>\n Biden Thursday night defended his mental capacity for the job<\/a> and insisted that his memory is fine.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m well-meaning, and I\u2019m an elderly man, and I know what the hell I\u2019m doing. I\u2019ve been president and I put this country back on its feet,\u201d he said during a press conference. <\/p>\n Holder was one of several former Obama administration officials speaking out against the comments on Biden\u2019s \u201cpoor\u201d memory contained in the report.<\/p>\n Tommy Vietor, a former Obama White House aide who now co-hosts Pod Save America, said the report was filled<\/a> with \u201cad hominem attacks\u201d and was \u201cjust a right-wing hit job from within Biden’s own DOJ.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHur, a lifelong Republican and creature of DC, didn’t have a case against Biden, but he knew exactly how his swipes could hurt Biden politically,\u201d said Jim Messina<\/a>, Barack Obama\u2019s 2012 campaign manager.<\/p>\n
