Source: China – South China Morning PostA section of a newly opened bridge collapsed in a mountainous area of Sichuan province in southwestern China on Tuesday, with no casualties reported.
Videos circulating on social media showed the side of the Shuangjiangkou Hongqi Bridge near the mountain suddenly collapsing, with thick dust billowing as the bridge structure shattered into pieces and fell into the river below.
Officials have denied that the bridge had quality issues. Construction on the bridge was completed early this year.
